Free software that is great if you don't own a Smart Board or a Promethean Board and don't want to spend money buying licenses.

The software works on Windows, Macs and PC Tablets and Graphic Tablets such as Wacom.

The software has many Apps integrated into it such as a Ruler, a Protractor and a great library of clipart and Sancore has a website for teachers to share resources called PLANET SANCORE.

Hector the Protector - Safety Button

A small program that places a swimming dolphin on your screen in the top right hand corner,  once the dolphin is clicked by a child, the childs screen is replaced with a friendly screen with a dolphin on it.  The idea is, if a child see an image or something they don't like they can click the dolphin and then alert the teacher.

Sumo Paint - Art Software

Sumo Paint is a full featured photo editing / painting application, which works right in your favorite web browser! The application can be used in Windows, Macintosh or Linux operating systems. The only requirement is the Flash Player (which can be downloaded from Adobe if it isn't already installed).

Sumo Paint can also be downloaded and installed for use offline.

Phun - Science software free download

Phun is a program that can make a subject such as science extremely fun.  First you load up a scene such as gravity, fountain, gears, catapults etc... you then play the simulation and interact with it such as move the objects around or take away gravity.  You can even set up your own experiment from scratch.

The software is free to download and well worth a look.
