Free software that is great if you don't own a Smart Board or a Promethean Board and don't want to spend money buying licenses.

The software works on Windows, Macs and PC Tablets and Graphic Tablets such as Wacom.

The software has many Apps integrated into it such as a Ruler, a Protractor and a great library of clipart and Sancore has a website for teachers to share resources called PLANET SANCORE.

Hector the Protector - Safety Button

A small program that places a swimming dolphin on your screen in the top right hand corner,  once the dolphin is clicked by a child, the childs screen is replaced with a friendly screen with a dolphin on it.  The idea is, if a child see an image or something they don't like they can click the dolphin and then alert the teacher.

Kaspersky Rescue Disk

A safe way to remove viruses from a computer without the risk of getting infected


Boot from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk to scan and remove threats from an infected computer without the risk of infecting other files or computers.  Rescue disks also get rid of  viruses that are very difficult to delete.

Download the file and put it onto a CD using software such as IMGBURN.

Sophos also do a similar boot disk.

Panda USB Vaccine

 A free useful application to install on school machine to stop the spread of viruses by USB devices.
The viruses include the Conficker Virus.  The program will disable the autorun command that is used to spread malware/ viruses from one machine to another.
